Płeć: dziewczynka

Rose Mary przyszła do naszego domu dwa lata temu, gdy miała 4 lata.

Gender: Girl

Rose Mary came to our home 2 yrs. back when she was 4 yrs. of age. At that time she used to be very sad, unresponsive, in a word- lifeless.

She comes from a very poor family living in the remote village lost in the Hills. When she was 2 months old she suffered 50 % burns when their family house got fire. Her mother is mentally challenged person and was not capable to rescue the child. However, God had an eye on her.  – Rose Mary survived. Both the feet had to be amputated.  After being treated in the government hospital the wounds healed and she went back home. Right leg became contracted so that it could not be straightened. As a result she was not able to walk. That must have been ‘worried’ her too much. Often could see her looking with such deep sadness at other children running around.  Fortunately we have here in Siliguri good plastic surgeon. She examined the child and told: ‘it can be done, though it is late’. Not to make the things go even more delayed we fixed the date for surgery. Little we knew how this surgery will change Rose Mary’s life. She suffered immensely but it was worthwhile because eventually the surgery transformed her life. No one will understand what we mean by saying ‘transformed’. We knew a sad Rose Mary, lifeless, always lost in her own thinking and then now we know completely different Rose Mary- full of life, making the world dance around her. It was a miracle that this child survived and it is a miracle that she is happy.
